Senior Corporate Accounting Associate

Reports to Manager, Corporate Accounting || Full-Time, Salaried

Position Summary:
The Senior Corporate Accounting Associate is a critical position on our Corporate Finance team. In this position, you will bring your valuable accounting and financial reporting experience to the corporate finance function.

Qualifications:

Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a mid-size accounting team with varied experience all aspects of financial accounting and reporting function.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration and a recent CPA or pursuing CPA designation.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Officeand Outlook
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and follow-thru skills
  • Fast learner, detail oriented, efficient working styleand ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast pacedenvironment, under pressure and very tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, thinking and problem solvingskills
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills

Primary Duties:

  • Monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of amortization schedules for prepaid expenses
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of fixed assets ledgerand amortization expenses
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly sales commissions calculations
  • Manage employee expense claims approval and recording
  • Manage recording and reconciliation of credit card transactions
  • Ensure appropriate accounting methods, policies and principles are being applied consistently
  • Assist in reconciliation of prepaid card vendors accounts
  • Assist in reconciliation of rewards points liability accruals by clients
  • Assist in various month-end close process tasks such as expense accruals, adjustments, reconciliations, etc
  • Ensure appropriate accounting methods, policies and principles are being applied consistently

Compensation

This is a salaried full-time position paid at a level commensurate with the experience of the individual for our location. Benefits include group health insurance plan, group RRSP, stock options as part of the compensation package.
