Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Commission Sales Representative is responsible for managing all aspects of the Food Service Sales function in an efficient and effective manner with a particular focus on the development of our business. This position will be responsible for managing a defined customer list within a geographic sales territory, the profitability of these customers, and the products that are distributed within their territories. You will also be responsible for the Accounts Receivable and create business plans that meet the agreed Saputo Food Service Division contribution levels.
This is a commission based role located in the Ottawa Gatineau region.
How you will make contributions that matter:

Meet and exceed budgeted gross margin and volume targets as assigned;

Develop and grow the Saputo business through new business acquisition and full line selling;

Communicate internally among Saputo management, finance, operations and distribution departments to maximize opportunities;

Initiate and evaluate opportunities for ‘continuous improvement’ throughout the assigned territory;
-
Develop and implement a schedule for customer contact to capitalize on opportunities;
-
Develop plans and reports to measure gain/loss in accounts with ‘initiatives’ in acquiring new or incremental business;
-
Build and maintain strong customer relationships;
-
Participate in company and customer functions as required.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

Post-secondary education in business and/or economics is an asset;
-
Training and education in sales is preferred;
-
A minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the Food Service marketplace;
-
Self motivated, with leadership qualities;
-
Ability to work under pressure and establish priorities;
-
Sound communication and interpersonal skills;
-
Strong organizational and analytical skills;
-
Dependability and proficiency;
-
Possesses a “can do” approach and attitude with proven ability to influence others

Proven track record of bringing projects to full completion, on schedule, with minimal supervision

Valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle
-
Bilingual (French) would be an asset
