Position: Retail Customer Service

The team at Granby Meats is looking for another member in our exiting new enterprise here in the core of Grand Forks. Our store at 222 72ndAve is brand new, providing the traditional experience of buying your meat from your local butcher in an open and bright retail space, and with all the trimmings of the modern cooking at home comforts, including spices, rubs, bbq equipment and knowledge from the staff.

The successful proponent will join the staff of two as a third and significant hand, working as a team to serve the customers. You will be backed by the ownership team and their network of supporters, getting to know them firsthand and being part of the excitement and diligence of providing a professional service to the public. We are looking for someone who wants to see the customers discover the fun in getting to know the people behind the counter, and who wants to enjoy the time they spend at work with the team. The proponent will have the discipline to work diligently and with focus, developing their skills and becoming effective at running the equipment, working with the products, and serving the customers. As an ownership team, we are committed to working hard to create an environment where all our staff have opportunity to grow, and expect each member to be keen to contribute and grow into the opportunities available in the business, integrating themselves into the daily practice of running the shop, including administrative tasks, sanitation routines, cash/Point of Sale (POS), cutting, preparation of product, packaging, and opening and closing for the day and week. Potential tasks: Retail cash at till (POS), sandwich prep, wrapping, meat/cheese slicing, receiving, product display, shelving, inventory tracking, equipment cleaning, mopping, general cleaning.

Position and Hours: ½ to full time, Tuesday to Saturday, 4-8 hours daily between 10 am and 8 pm, with accumulating vacation time. We are offering some flexibility in hours during the day as part of the integrated team.

Timeframe: The position is available now with first day Dec 6 with an initial probationary period of three months.
