- Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- BScN preferred.
- Current BCLS certification.
- Minimum 3 years emergency & critical care experience.
- Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale Education.
- IV certification.
- Certification in delegated medical acts and added nursing skills in Emergency/ICU desired
- Cardiac module of Critical Care Course or equivalent required, within past five (5) years.
- Certification in ACLS.
- Certification in TNCC (Trauma Nursing Care Course).
- Health teaching skills that demonstrate a broad knowledge of Adult and Paediatric Care.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, communication skills and critical thinking skills.
- Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
- Provision of nursing care in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family
- Acts as a liaison for patients/families with members of the health care team.
- Participation on various hospital committees.
- Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors
- Participate/direct as an active member of the cardiac arrest team.
