(Knowledge, Skill and Experience)
  • Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • BScN preferred.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Minimum 3 years emergency & critical care experience.
  • Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale Education.
  • IV certification.
  • Certification in delegated medical acts and added nursing skills in Emergency/ICU desired
  • Cardiac module of Critical Care Course or equivalent required, within past five (5) years.
  • Certification in ACLS.
  • Certification in TNCC (Trauma Nursing Care Course).
  • Health teaching skills that demonstrate a broad knowledge of Adult and Paediatric Care.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, communication skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Satisfactory attendance.

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)
  • Provision of nursing care in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family
  • Acts as a liaison for patients/families with members of the health care team.
  • Participation on various hospital committees.
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors
  • Participate/direct as an active member of the cardiac arrest team.

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
