VIA Rail Canada Inc., a leader in passenger transportation in Canada, is currently seeking applications for Refrigeration Technicians to work at it's Montreal Maintenance Center in Pointe St-Charles.
As a Refrigeration Technician for VIA Rail, you will be required to perform a multitude of tasks on locomotives and passenger cars. You will be responsible for the installation, replacement and repair of all electrical equipment and components. This includes equipment related to the HVAC system, the various locomotive control systems, power and lighting systems as well as the configuration of PLC’s, etc. You will, amongst other tasks, check and measure voltage, loads, grounding faults and circuit integrity.
The positions are permanent (40 hours per week) and the work schedule may vary (day, evening, night, week-end and holidays). Our maintenance center is open 365 days a year and you must expect to work any of the shifts including the night shift and weekends.
Hourly salary: $34.36/H
Evening shift differential: $1.50/H
Night shift differential: $2.00/H

Requirements :
- Certificate in refrigeration system
- Ideally a minimum of two years’ experience in electricity
- Extensive knowledge in reading and interpreting electrical plans
- Be able to work in a team and be creative in problem solving
- Be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
