Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Records Manager, this position plans, coordinates and provides records / information management daily support in the development, implementation, and on-going maintenance of corporate information. The Records Coordinator must be responsible, accurate, proficient in the duties assigned, maintain a high degree of independent judgement and personal initiative. At this level, the person understands more than the basic techniques and technologies, has managed, or developed RM projects, and has knowledge of IM lifecycle concepts. In addition, the practitioner may be developing specialty skills (e.g., analysis, auditing, warehousing, and application technologies) and may also have experience supervising other IM staff.

What you’ll do

  • Help develop RM system specifications by using best practices, assessing business needs, and clearly documenting requirements
  • Lead and direct RM staff daily work activities
  • help design information management systems by translating information processes into functional requirements
  • Support and assist others in the use of technology to accomplish tasks that support RM program objectives
  • Review and update RM Policy and Procedures Manual and Records Retention Schedule
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor, Director, or the Executive Director

What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in Business Management and/or Administration, Records Information Management certification, CRM designation or a related discipline.
  • ARMA (Association of Records Managers and Administrators) membership would be a asset
  • Extensive knowledge of records and information management principles, practices,
    and methodologies.
  • Accreditation in Records/Information Management, and/or Project Management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office Suite. Including an advanced level spreadsheet, graphics, records tracking
  • Ability to adhere to Oath of Confidentiality and Seabird Island Band Policies and Procedure.
  • Knowledge and respect of Stó:lō culture, traditions and language is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities is considered an asset.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License, Class 5.

Reports to: Records Manager
