Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Casual Receptionist in our 224-bed Long Term Care Facility located in Newmarket, Ontario. Position may involve a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and Public Holidays and may include on-call.

Reporting to the Office Manager and following established policies, procedures and standards, the Receptionist performs clerical, reception duties within the Administrative Dept. as well as assists with staffing and other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include:

• Receives and re-directs incoming calls
• Performs clerical duties not limited to typing, photocopying, faxing, filing, invoicing
• Assists in staffing of departments in the absence of the Staffing Clerk and Office Manager
• Performs reception duties and ensures reception is staffed at all times during regular office hours
• Completes audits as directed by the Office Manager or designate
• Data entry and record keeping
• Adheres to the company Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality of all Facility information
• Demonstrates record of good attendance, punctuality
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate
• May assist with IPAC (infection, prevention and control) related initiatives periodically, including screening at front desk.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Secondary School Graduation Diploma with minimum one year office experience

· Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Outlook and Excel

· Acting as a liaison between customers and department managers, has the ability to:

· present information clearly and effectively both verbally, over the phone, or in writing

· work effectively within a variety of stressful situations, challenges and frequent interruptions

· collect and use information to thoroughly problem-solve situations and generate creative solutions

· An active listener who projects in a friendly demeanor and is approachable

· Proven integrity through open and honest interactions with colleagues, visitors and residents

· Encourages active participation and commitment from others in the pursuit of common goals; understands roles, sets expectations, shares information, and builds consensus

· Acts as a team player, facilitates and encourages team work

· Must be committed to providing excellent customer service

· Superb organization, planning, time management and multi-tasking skills
