GENERAL STATEMENT

With minimal supervision, under general guidelines, assists with shipping, shelving, maintaining of materials, and operation of three college vehicles. This position may involve work at either campus.

TYPICAL DUTIES

• Receives, unloads, verifies, and distributes ordered materials;
• Verifies packing slips, invoices against purchase orders, and enters data into Colleague according to College policy;
• Prepares, packs, ships, and processes documents for outgoing mail and goods; provides information to college staff on packing, where necessary;
• Initiates damage and loss claims on orders;
• Maintains housekeeping functions and ensures security of goods in Receiving and storage areas;
• Assists in moves of equipment, supplies, furniture, and printshop materials; uses power and related tools, as required;
• Assists in the clerical and physical aspects of equipment inventory;
• Drives college vehicles and operates pallet mover, dolly, and motorized forklift;
• Provides a scheduled courier service;
• Sorts and delivers inter-campus mail;
• Transports goods, mail, employees to and from a variety of locations, to and from all college campuses and facilities;
• Maintains cleanliness and appearance of courier vehicles and reports any service and damage issues;
• Performs other related duties similar in scope and complexity.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade 12 education plus one year of recent, related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Basic keyboarding skills;
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
• Ability to relate well with the public, college staff, and students;
• Excellent physical health is required as this job requires moving large volumes of freight on a daily basis;
• Must be willing to take additional training as required, this includes Transportation of Dangerous Goods training. Must be willing to obtain a Fork Lift Operator certificate.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.52-$27.26 per hour
