Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Location: BECC Modular ,1295 Cormorant Rd, Ancaster, ON L9G 4V5

Reports to: Production Supervisor

BECC Modular is a rapidly growing volumetric modular design build company, focused on building various modular buildings, from small scale shelters and institutional buildings to large scale affordable multi-residential housing projects across Ontario. With numerous projects won and more on the way, we are building our Construction & Management Team to be the first in hand to see our buildings come to life.
Looking for skilled construction workers that are tired of traveling to different sites all over Ontario. Enjoy working in our climate-controlled facility in a convenient location minutes from the 403.
Enjoy 10 hour shifts 4 days a week. (Monday-Thursday)

Core Responsibilities

  • Read construction drawings and measure and inspect materials according to their requirements.
  • Read and understand job specifications and inspect that they are laid out properly.
  • Promote a culture of quality across the organization.
  • Ability to properly use required measuring devices and testing equipment.
  • Using tablet to record inspection points on ITP checklists
  • Fixing minor deficiencies found during inspections
  • Ensure that Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing is installed and tested according to spec and drawings.
  • Creating & tracking NCR reporting.
  • Attend and actively participate in training classes and safety sessions.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support quality team with testing and code requirements
  • Provide assistance to design and estimating.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Construction, specifically framing, drywall, flooring
  • Welding knowledge or experience welding with FCAW & MCAW is an asset
  • Experience with general hand and power tools (ex. Drills, palm sander, circular saws)
  • Experience NCR tracking and general Quality Program
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
  • Ability to lift to 20Kg
  • Ability to read and interpreter Drawings, and details from shop drawings
  • Ability to drive change and initiate system improvements
  • An effective team player with strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work at heights, using step ladder, scissor lift, telescopic boom, etc
  • Ensure that daily tasks are done in accordance with the BECC’s SOP’s.

Working Conditions

Construction work in a manufacturing facility.

Walking for extended periods of time as this position will be patrolling production lines continuously. Using ladders for reaching higher inspections, using creepers for under module inspections. Fixing minor deficiencies that are found during inspections

This position will be starting on a contract basis. Start of employment will be on day shift, Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm then transitioning into full-time permanent weekend shift Friday- Sunday 6am-6pm.

The Compensation

  • Competitive Salary ($26-$32 per hour)
  • Vacation: 2 weeks. vacation pay get processed with hourly payroll.
