POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The property manager is in charge of a set of buildings mainly made up of office buildings located in the greater Montreal area.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, the Property Manager is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day property operations with the ultimate goal of meeting and exceeding all expected property goals.


ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and reports of operational expenses, preparation of purchase orders and approval of invoices Participates in the collection of rents
  • Ensures that staff members carry out the tasks assigned to them correctly
  • Ensures to offer a high level of customer service and maintains good relations with tenants and landlords
  • Gives building maintenance contracts and monitors them
  • Oversees the management of maintenance and renovation work, as well as the development work of certain tenants
  • Performs periodic building inspections and ensures that noted deficiencies are corrected and that the building is maintained to the highest industry standards and complies with all applicable safety and environmental standards
  • Prepares and follows up on operational and management reports required by head office
  • Sees to solve the various mechanical problems of the building by identifying the problems and placing the service calls to the various trades, such as electricians, plumbers, and others

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must own a car as the job is 50% on the road. The position may require after-hours work in case of emergencies
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in the field, including personnel management
  • Degree in real estate, administration, management, engineering or related field
  • Bilingual French/English
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of building mechanics
