Western Propeller Ltd is a leading MRO and parts distribution company headquartered in Richmond, BC. We have been family owned and operated since 1947, and we are looking to add an Aircraft Component Technician to our fantastic team of dedicated employees. This is a full time role in our maintenance department reporting to the Director of Maintenance. In this position there is significant advancement potential based on your abilities and attitude. You will be trained in all aspects of the maintenance, cleaning, processing and painting of aircraft propellers and components. Our current capabilities list includes aircraft propellers, governors, wheels and brakes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing manual, chemical, and machine-assisted cleaning of parts
  • Removal of paints and coatings from parts using glass bead blasting and sanding to ensure the parts are ready for inspection
  • Application of paints and coatings in accordance with Manufacturer specifications
  • Ensuring the company’s best interest is maintained in accordance with the maintenance policy manual, quality control procedures manual and company handbook
  • Other duties as requested by supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude & experience necessary.
  • Prior experience working around aircraft, automotive or industrial tooling considered an asset
  • Be able to read and understand technical data and component maintenance manuals
  • Ability to think logically and to know your own limitations in training or abilities
  • Strong observational, decision-making and time management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with fellow technicians & follow instructions, both written and verbal
  • Must be fit and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check
  • Steel toed boots and PPE must be used at all times

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
