We are looking for a knowledgeable and driven Lead Technical and Process Engineer to add value to our Manufacturing Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming and troubleshooting robots, supervising Injection Tooling personnel, and all duties associated with the facilities Injection department.

Key Roles and Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate activities of Injection Tooling personnel.
  • Ensure PM’s are completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate appropriate training for Injection Technicians and Tooling personnel.
  • Troubleshoot process problems.
  • Troubleshoot tool and machine problems and instruct employees on how to repair.
  • Start-up of new programs processes.
  • Upon issued purchase order, assume responsibility for assigned injection tooling, including safety, engineering changes, installation co-ordination, and approvals.
  • In coordination with Product Engineering, liaise with tool vendors pertaining to design and engineering changes and the cost implications which arise.
  • In coordination with Product Engineering, obtain cost and timing from tool vendors to satisfy log issues and part study requirements.
  • Participate as an active member of the Product Development Team and Customer Product Development teams as assigned.
  • Respond in a timely manner to vendor tooling dimensional issues as they relate to engineering responsibilities.
  • Ensure the issuance of detailed and comprehensive information concerning program status on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Participate where necessary in customer related programs that endeavor to promote productivity, reduce cost and enhance quality.
  • Participate in a smooth flow of information with Project Engineers during tool design, construction, installation, and approval.
  • Maintains current level tool drawings, copies of latest tool material mold flows and tool steel certifications.
  • Effectively communicate with the Facility Engineering Group concerning cost and tooling issues.
  • Participate in cost reduction and material utilization programs where existing skills would make a positive contribution.
  • Review technical advancements as they relate to tooling and comprehensively report findings and their potential implementations.
  • Supervise Injection Tooling employees.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Technician Diploma and/or Engineering degree in related discipline
  • Minimum of five years Injection experience at the Supervisory level; in-house Manufacturing experience would be an asset
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Basic SPC
  • Programming of; Engel Machines , Italtech Machines, Husky Machines, Cincinnati Milacron Machines
  • Thermoplastic chemistry knowledge
  • Strong communications and human relations skills
  • Organizational ability
