Project Manager Construction/Operations Co-ordinator

The Project Manager Construction/ Operations Co-ordinator {PMC/OP) - oversees all projects initializing in sales and transitioning to construction as required. This includes maintaining the highest levels of quality, understanding permitting and ail aspects of pre permit approvals such as variances. lt will also involve engaging suppliers and sourcing materials, while administering and managing multiple pieces of information and reporting to all departments towards maximum productivity. This position reports to the Construction Division Manager.

Objectives of this Role

  • Maintain constant communication with management, staff, and clients to ensure proper organization of ail prospective and active projects.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems to ensure a smooth transition from sales to construction.
  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the transition between departments.
  • Develop and maintain ail processes regarding permitting.
  • To develop and understand the processes necessary to construct a Timberblock structure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the process of finalizing sales through the design and the construction process.
  • Engage clients in order to understand their needs, set expectations and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Assist in directing all projects from conception to permit to completion.
  • Co-ordinate with sales, Design, Engineering, Production, delivery and Build teams.
  • Consult with local Municipal building/planning departments.
  • Develop, submit and follow to completion ail permitting phases.
  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service
  • Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems
  • Oversee materials and inventory management
  • Oversee scheduling and delivery of ail Timberblock packages and materials in Ontario.
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to project status.
  • Prepare purchase orders and contracts for suppliers and sub trades if necessary
  • Provide clients with accurate timeline of their projects.
  • Recruit, develop, and train a stable of top quality, customer and quality focused trades.
  • Support the Project Manager's Coordinator(s) in delivering a top-quality product and first-class customer satisfaction.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in Construction with a background in project management
  • Understanding the Planning and permitting phases of construction
  • Operations management, business administration, or related field an asset
  • 2+ years' proven experience in an operations management position
  • Strong budget development and oversight skills
  • Strong problem prevention and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time, project management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Embrace challenges and enjoy a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Ward, Excel, Outlook)
