Payroll Administrator

Open To: Open Competition

Job Location: Catholic Education Centre, 46 Alliance Blvd., Barrie, Ontario

Position Type / Hours: Full-Time Permanent. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, 35 hours weekly, plus overtime as required

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of accurate and timely payroll services for assigned client group(s) – both unionized and non-unionized staff
  • Tracking of information concerning attendance and vacation entitlement

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role:

  • 2 Year College Diploma in accounting or business
  • 1-3 years related experience, preferably in an education environment.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation preferred
  • Demonstrated capability to deliver on multiple tasks to deadline.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and conflict management skills with the ability to work in an interdependent team environment.
  • Exceptional oral communication skills and written communication skills.
  • Excellent client/customer service orientation.
  • Previous experience working with confidential information and maintaining employee privacy.
  • Computer literate and exceptional skills in Word, Excel and email a must.
  • Knowledge of HRMS or other relational data base systems is mandatory.
  • Proven experience with matters of legislative compliance and legal obligations with regard to employment issues.
