Reporting to the Leader, OCC, the Operations Coordinator, in alignment with the Operations Duty Manager, is responsible for the execution of the daily operation (plus 1-3 days) and monitoring the day-of flight operation for potential impacts to the safe, on-time performance of the Swoop network and proactively plan for any irregular operations. This team supports a variety of stakeholders to ensure efficiencies for all commercial aspects of the operation. The Operations Coordinators are responsible to formulate IROP contingency plans in conjunction with Crew Scheduling, the Airports Communication Coordinator, Technical Operations, Central Customer Support, and various Government Agencies.

Role Description

  • Monitor day-of flight schedule and make proactive decisions to keep the integrity of the flight schedule;
  • Liaise with all operational teams to develop and communicate IROP contingency and recovery plans;
  • Coordinate operational support requirements between flight crews and airports;
  • Responsible for managing Sabre Movement Control Plot including performing IROP functions, forecasting flight delays, identifying priority flights (and other flight markers), and creating extra flight segments as required. Ensure all functions performed in the MCP are communicated to all stakeholders prior to execution;
  • Prepare daily reports and operational status updates detailing operational highlights and concerns
  • Complete all checklists and provide comprehensive briefings during shift changes;
  • Monitor ACARS and incoming calls to provide timely and professional communication and ground support to both flight crews and airports teams;
  • Monitor all flight delays, cancellations, weather advisories, aircraft swaps, flight reroutes and other operational constraints and communicate these to affected stakeholders and flight crews;
  • Manage gate assignments across the network;
  • Monitor and report on all U.S. and Domestic Extended Tarmac Delays;
  • Coordinate and communicate customs exemptions for approved trans-border flights;
  • Liaise with Flight Crews, Airports, and Emergency Response providers to ensure emergency medical assistance is provided as required by Travellers and/or flight crews. Engage Quarantine Officials as required;
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the OCC – Leader or Operations Duty Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, organization and communications skills required;
  • Experience with Sabre Movement Control software would be an asset;
  • Proven ability to proactively identify problems, issues, opportunities, and solutions;
  • Must be able to work with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;
  • Required to work a rotating schedule including evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts;
  • Ability to work with multiple teams in different time zones across the Swoop network;
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations using diplomacy.
