Futures Canadian College of Business, Health & Technology is hiring for a Mental Health and Addictions Instructor to join our team!

Futures Canadian College of Business, Health & Technology formerly Futures Academy of Healthcare has been around for over 10 years. Under new management, we have re-launching our brand in our new location in Mississauga, Ontario. We are aggressively ramping up for 2021 strategies.

The purpose of the Mental Health and Addictions Instructor is to teach students through lectures, discussions, and audio-visual presentation. Deliver instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum.

Reporting to the President of the college, the Mental Health and Addictions instructor meets with students for consultation, on request, contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials and monitor and review students during practicum and/or clinical placements, as program requires.

Requirements:

·Must have minimum of two years recent occupational experience in the vocation to be taught and one of the following:

o a bachelor’s degree from an Ontario university or an equivalent degree

o be a graduate of a College of Applied Arts and Technology or equivalent

o be a graduate of a registered private career college or equivalent

o be the holder of a Certificate of Qualification under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009 or equivalent Canadian certificate.

· Thorough knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook

· Background in health care, adult education and/or occupational health & safety related field

· Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service, compliance, and ethics

· Must have excellent time management and organizational skills

· Ability to manage and thrive in a multi priority environment and commitment to work hours in excess of regular shift, as needed

Job Responsibilities:

· Teach students using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, shop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments and independent or group projects

· Prepare, administer, and mark tests and papers to evaluate students' progress

· Advise students on program curricula and career decisions

· Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it

· Supervise independent or group projects, field placements, laboratory work or hands-on training

· Submit marked final examinations, midterm & final grades, and attendance records according to program deadlines

· Support the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience

Part-time hours: 20 per week
