Due to the continuous success and growth of our company there is an immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical Designer at our head office in Elmira, Ontario. In this role you will participate in the development and production of technical drawings to support sales and operations.

• At our offices in Elmira, you'll be working in a clean, modern workspace with high-quality hardware/software and a great group of people.
• You'll immediately become a contributing member of our Operations Team, reporting to the team leader in the mechanical design department.
• At the end of your probationary period you'll be enrolled in the company's benefit program and two weeks of vacation will be available to you.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Work together with other team members to design, lay out, and detail components and systems.
• Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
• Create 2D shop-drawings for fabrication and 3D site-layout drawings for use on jobsites using Autodesk Inventor.
• Check and verify design drawings to ensure they conform to specification and design data.

Qualifications:

• Must be proficient with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks for sheet-metal fabrication, working with large assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Should be able to design and detail drawings in Inventor or SolidWorks - with a summary component list - from detailed shop and field sketches, engineering prints, or AutoCAD drawings.
• Should have a basic working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with construction, concrete, and rebar terminology will be considered an asset.
