Material Control Specialist

Karic Sales Ltd, a leading direct to store distribution company of such premium brands as Red Bull, Bio-Steel, and Jack Links throughout Atlantic Canada is seeking a Material Control Specialist for a permanent full-time position at their Dartmouth office

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for various aspects of the company’s inventory management cycle including but not limited to purchasing, inventory management, logistics and other support as needed. The company operates multiple satellite warehouse throughout Atlantic Canada including the main warehouse located at our head office in Dartmouth.

Job Description

As a material control specialist, you are responsible for assisting both the warehouse, sales and finance team with the company's financial, sales and logistical objectives. The Material Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the effective and timely execution of procurement and logistic activities. As such, the ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills. The applicant must display excellent problem-solving abilities with the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly and work well under pressure. With the ability to adapt to changing priorities, the candidate is flexible and doesn’t mind taking on extra work to ensure the department is operating at its highest level of efficiency.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

· Analyze past and future sales trends to determine demand

· Create purchase orders as required, ordering all brands to satisfy demand.

· Input and receive all appropriate purchase orders

· Manage wholesale PO’s and ensure adequate inventory is on hand, ensuring appropriate lead times are adhered to.

· Manage shipment damages ensuring all are captured and rebilled to the appropriate suppliers

· Monitor current out of stocks and ensure all sales rep are aware of current shortages.

· Reallocate inventory among all satellite warehouse to avoid out of stocks

· Maintain control over the company’s free goods budget

· Review and input all current off invoice pricing in conjunction with the promotional calander.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Post secondary education, University, Community College Diploma or applicable accounting or equivalent experience

· A minimum 5 years experience in either a procurement, logistics or inventory control role

· Ability to review and analyze current procurement processes and make appropriate recommendations to improve efficiencies

· Previous experience with QuickBooks online and mobile route accounting software considered an asset

· Excellent customer service and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment in order to meet deadlines.

· Strong excel and other MS Office capabilities.

· Professional and organized, with strong administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and set goals and priorities to assist with meeting deadlines

· Attention to detail and proven ability to problem solve as required

· High level of accuracy and analytical skills

Salary:
