Universal Precision Technology is a well-established organization that specializes in the manufacturing of precision components and sub-assemblies for the aerospace, aircraft, military, medical, optical and defense sectors. We are looking to increase our diverse and dynamic team with the addition accomplished individual.

Reporting to President/Owner the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate excellent working knowledge of Quality systems and leading a team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possess and effectively apply intellect, judgment, and management skills to achieve desired business performance results
  • Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Manage, coach and mentor a team of 35-50 employees
  • Follow and comply with all AS9100 REV D and ISO 9001:2008 manufacturing and quality standards, regulations, legislative and customer requirements to ensure the high standards are maintained
  • Coordinate internal audits of Quality, Sales, Production and Administration to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
  • Review quality trends, communicate and make recommendations to president and initiate cost-effective corrective actions and root cause analysis as necessary
  • Recommend and institute corrective actions
  • Lead/Partake in ISO & AS audits
  • Evaluate/approve suppliers and establish supplier performance metrics
  • Manage staffing demands of the industry, performance appraisals and resolve employee relation issues and conflicts
  • Oversee the scheduling and completion of preventative maintenance tasks
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the Manufacturing Management Sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Business Administration, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Trained in the ISO/TS16949 quality management systems and internal auditing
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate others
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong knowledge in problem solving techniques
  • Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability and willingness to implement Lean / Six Sigma initiatives and thinking
  • The proven ability to meet deadlines while under pressure and effectively handle a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • This individual is required to have strong computer skills with the ability to use various computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • CMM experience an asset
  • Knowledge of CNC Machining and Tooling design, is desirable and an asset

  • Security clearance
  • Own Steel-toe safety shoes
