Role Summary

This position is accountable to manage a team of employees charged with defining the company's Manufacturing system; effectively implement new and changed processes, and continuously improve all manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible and accountable to lead, manage, and support all staff within the department.
  • Drive improvement in scrap reduction, OEE attainment, and cost saving initiatives
  • Support new business quotes for manufacturing assembly process.
  • Develops and implements new processes and procedures, as needed to support changing business demands.
  • Responsible to review the scheduling, implementation, and the monitoring of all departmental activities to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Must be capable of collecting and correlating relevant data that pertains to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department, recognizing trends and continuous improvement areas.
  • Develops and executes an annual strategic plan for the department supporting company performance objectives and industry/field relates benchmarking and trends.
  • Responsible to ensure all company policies and procedures are followed by all members of the department and to promote company culture.
  • Expected to display a positive approach to the continuous improvement of the department and keep current with new products, processes, materials and equipment technologies.
  • Responsible to ensure all employees are treated in accordance with the Employee Charter, and that compensation and discipline is according to Dortec policy and procedure.
  • Facilitates and promotes a work environment based on fairness and concern for people, in accordance with the principles of the Magna Employee Charter.
  • Involvement in the accident/incident investigation program, determine root causes, correct actions and following-up to ensure completion.
  • Prepare, review, and perform performance appraisals, confidentially of all personnel data is strictly maintained.
  • Meets all department objectives as set out by Manufacturing Engineering Manager.


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Completion of university degree.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing
