What would you be doing?


As a leader in our growing firm, you will collaborate with the partners and clients to resolve problems and execute strategies to help our clients succeed. Your primary responsibilities would include:

  • Manage the preparation, review and filing of corporate, personal and trust tax returns
  • Coordinate and manage the tax processes across our four offices to maintain efficient, effective and timely service to our clients
  • Manage client engagements in a team environment providing tax services to internal and external firm clients
  • Provide guidance and assistance to staff and clients on tax compliance issues
  • Identify and communicate trends and developments in tax which are relevant to client base
  • Develop tax strategies and knowledge-share across the firm
  • Oversee tax audits and appeals
  • Identify opportunities to provide tax planning and other special services
  • Provide daily guidance, coaching and support to the staff as they develop and grow their tax knowledge and skill levels

Who is our ideal candidate?

  • University degree in commerce or accounting
  • Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA, CA)
  • Minimum five years of progressive public accounting experience in a tax focussed specialist role
  • Relevant Canadian tax experience and strong understanding of personal and corporate tax legislation impacting owner-managed clients
  • Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program or equivalent is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Caseware and Taxprep preferred
  • Excellent analytic and creative thinking skills to identify problems and potential solutions
  • Proven leadership skills in a collaborative environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and client service skills
  • A passion for learning and developing self and team members to the next level
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
