About our Red Lake operation

Our Red Lake Operation is in an area where you will experience the best in Northern lifestyle, in the heart of a lake-studded, boreal forest region in Sunset Country. Red Lake is known for its natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and incredible Canadian fishing in the many freshwater lakes in the area. The Red Lake district is located 180 kilometres north of Dryden about 100 kilometres from the Manitoba border in North-western Ontario, Canada. It spans 42,000 hectares and has produced over 29 million ounces of gold since 1949. Our Red Lake Operation includes underground mining and processing complexes in Balmertown and Cochenour, as well as the Bateman Project. As Evolution’s newest asset and our first in North America, we are excited by the opportunities here and investing in the operations future.

About the role

We are seeking to hire an Integrated Planning Manager based at our Red Lake operation. The role has a wide delivery and time horizon focus with a remit covering key strategic deliverables from early-stage exploration, growth studies (PFS and FS studies) and business planning cycle technical inputs (Life of Mine Planning, Ore Reserve updates) through to daily operational input via the short term planning and Rock Mechanics teams.

The Integrated Planning Manager is accountable for key strategic business products along with short term operational contribution, working collaboratively with different business partners across the operation and wider Evolution structure. Within the scope of the role, you will be responsible for implementing best practice initiatives and programs to assist Red Lake Operations journey towards becoming an industry leading organisation.

This is a significant position in terms of both responsibility and opportunity, providing exposure to and ownership of multiple key strategic mining activities and senior internal and external stakeholders within statutory bodies, local community and government.

Key deliverables include:
Within the role, you will be exposed to almost all parts of our Red Lake operation, ownership and focus will be invested especially in the below disciplines:

Safety, Health and Environment – Ensures the Integrated Planning team achieves workplace health, safety, and environmental outcomes both day-to-day but also contributing to our 2050 Zero Carbon emissions and Zero Harm goal.

Work Execution – Shape strategic direction, manage Discovery activity, Geology and Geotechnical teams, delivering future growth and optimisation studies; advise on technical input to Life of Mine (LOM) plans, Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve updates and budgets, applying a consistent business improvement lens across all activities

Planning, Budget & Forecast – Manage and own the Integrated Planning budget, collaborating with delivery and commercial teams in preparing, defining the groups work scope, schedule and strategic workforce planning

Operational Efficiency - Collaborate with other operational Managers, internal and external stakeholders to ensure that overall site future planning objectives are met

Cost & Compliance - Provide strategic direction for business improvement and innovation for both OPEX and CAPEX, including performance against budget and develop corrective action plans if needed whilst ensuring suitable planning and project monitoring tools, tracking and reporting systems and standards

About you

You will be a seasoned Mining professional with an academic grounding in Mine Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering / Geology or Metallurgy and 10 years of mining related experience including long term and strategic planning experience with a sound working knowledge of geological processes, mineral processing and geometallurgy, underground mining, and study practices.

To succeed in this role, it is expected you will be able to demonstrate key competencies as per below:

Regulatory compliance and knowledge of mining regulations, WHS legislation including safety management systems and frameworks.
Cultural and behavioural leadership driving a ‘One Team’, safety first approach with a collaborative working style to foster strong cross functional relationships.
Project Management (cost and schedule control), including planning and leading through change
Ability to innovate, seek our global best practice and think differently to apply expertise and emerging technology.
Comfortable in to presenting key technical outputs succinctly and clearly to key internal (Board, Executive Leadership Team, Investment Management Committee) and external (Local and State Government Departments) stakeholders.
