Lush fairways complemented by immaculate greens and edged with elegant spires of jackpine and spruce define The Dunes Golf & Winter Club – northern Alberta’s premier golf course. With views of the Wapiti River valley and glimpses of natural wildlife, this 18-hole public course is as picturesque as it is challenging. Located on Resources Road, just four kilometers south of Grande Prairie’s city limits, The Dunes Golf & Winter Club has multiple tee boxes that offer four lengths of play – gold, blue, white, and red. And, when the day is done, you can unwind further with a beverage, snack or meal in our fully-licensed club house or on one of our pleasant balconies overlooking either the 9th or 18th greens.

This is a seasonal job opportunity from April to October with our busiest months being from May to September. You will be a member of a cohesive team that supports each other’s success in a fast-paced environment. Understanding our culture and doing whatever it takes to create a positive and memorable experience for our guests is our number one priority. We are seeking motivated and talented cooks to join our Food and Beverage team. The perfect candidate will be reliable, friendly, professional and have a desire to deliver quality food.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high quality and presentation of all food
  • Follow portion control sizes and maintain cost controls
  • Follow all recipes for food items
  • Prepare food for daily service and special events in a timely manner with a sense of urgency
  • Prepare and stock supplies needed for daily service and special events
  • Ensure that proper sanitation techniques and health and safety regulations are maintained at all times
  • Follow proper presentation of food products
  • Set up and close down work stations
  • Work in direct coordination with other staff in a positive and professional manner
  • Maintain constant cleanliness of all kitchen areas including fridges and equipment
  • Wear proper uniform and work in a safe, clean, efficient and organized manner
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality, service and presentation of food items before they leave the kitchen
  • Be especially friendly and polite when dealing with any/all guests and staff while
  • Must be proactive and execute any other duties as requested by Management or Supervisors
  • Will be required to work on a shift basis, including mornings, evenings, weekends of an unspecified duration

Qualifications:

  • Cooking experience and/or professional training
  • General knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, chemicals and procedures
  • Leads by example in maintaining a clean, neat and presentable appearance
  • Accuracy and speed when executing tasks
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Special event experience is an asset
  • Must thrive in a multi-tasking, fast paced work environment
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling weight of up to 50 pounds
  • Food Safe Certification is an asset
