*Ag Mechanic/Heavy Duty Mechanic – Shop position - Lougheed, AB

Lougheed, Dunmore and Coaldale, Alberta. We offer the entire North American lineup of CLAAS agriculture equipment along with other great product lines to meet the demands of the Alberta
Agriculture Industry. Each of our stores features a full stock of parts, a knowledgeable sales team, and competent factory-trained technicians. *This specific role is for our Lougheed, AB location.

Hours of work:

• Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM w/ a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
• Seasonal overtime and on-call

Job Summary:

Agricultural mechanics are responsible for fixing tractors, combines and other farming implements.
Often, mechanics use specialized skills and experience to locate and diagnose the machine's problem and then generate a cost-effective solution. We are looking for an individual who is a self- starter and enjoys a fun atmosphere. The desired Ag Service Technician candidate will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment. Also, a knowledge of, and/or experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical principles is preferred. Claas Equipment background considered an asset.

Main Responsibilities / Tasks:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Performs complex diagnostics and repairs on equipment
• Performs diagnosis and repair in the field as required
• Supports customer clinics
• Utilize computer to research parts and technical information
• Maintains current knowledge of company competitive products
• Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties

Job Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Stand/Walk for 8+ hours
• Squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and use of ladders and stairs
• Lifting up to 50lbs/23kg
• Carrying up to 50lbs/23kg

Competencies and Qualifications:

• Registered in a ticketed trade or have a journeyman’s ticket in a relevant trade such as

Heavy Equipment Technician or Agricultural Equipment Technician

• Ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following procedures
• Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural equipment
• Work in a safe and efficient manner
• Be available to work on weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays during peak season
• Be reliable
• Have a valid driver’s license

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Lougheed, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
