Job Summary
In response to the pandemic, Ontario Health has identified organizations including hospitals, public health units. You will be working as part of the Southlake IPAC Hub.
As part of the IPAC HUB you will be working with its partners in the health care system implementing a robust plan to prevent, monitor and respond to IPAC needs within the various settings.
Qualifications
  • University Diploma/Degree in Health-related discipline, Sciences, Nursing, Laboratory Sciences, , Occupational Health/Safety and/or Education
  • Experience in healthcare and/or Education an asset, but not a requirement
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively articulate the important components of an infection prevention and control program with all levels of personnel/clients
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate IPAC policies and programs
  • Possesses knowledge of and is able to utilize educational principles in program development and teaching.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills
  • Basic proficiency with computerized information systems
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required.
  • Additional Skills/Abilities:
o Demonstrated ability in interpersonal, communication, diplomacy, coaching, facilitation and team building skills.
o Able to work independently in a fast paced and challenging environment
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
o Demonstrated ability to interact with interdisciplinary staff at all levels of the organization
o Superior written and verbal communication skills
o Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Professional
o Good work and attendance record required

Primary Responsibilities
  • You will provide infection prevention education alongside the Infection Control Practitioners to a variety of stakeholders including but not limited to long-term care homes, retirement homes, congregate settings, acute-care, physicians, residents/patients, families and community partners.
  • You will assess the various sites for IPAC-related issues, processes, gaps, and need for training of others in the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, and other IPAC-related topics and providing follow-up.
  • You will liaise with community partners including Public Health, and other health care facilitiesK
