Position: Industrial Painter

Barrier Group is an oilfield service company based in Stony Plain, Alberta that provides field abrasive blasting and protective coating applications for both new and existing pipeline, facility, and tank work throughout western Canada. Barrier Group Is looking for an experienced full-time (seasonal) Industrial Painter/Coater. We are looking for an outgoing, adaptable individual looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepping materials for sandblasting or coating, including removing previous paint surfaces
• Masking of materials
• Maintaining equipment required for the job
• Previous experience in the use and maintenance of paint spray systems including conventional, airless, and plural
• Previous experience coating Piping Internals and Tanks/Vessels
• Safely and properly storing and disposing of chemical waste
• Using instruments to ensure specifications and quality are met
• Completion of Quality Control documents
• Completion of daily LEMs
• Read and interpret specifications to ensure all requirements are met
• Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Barrier Group’s safe work practices, policies, and procedures
• Ability to identify hazards
• Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision
• Assist with other duties as required

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Minimum of 2 years of previous experience with industrial painting
• Familiar with Industrial Paint Codes and Standards
• Familiar with spraying and sandblasting equipment
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with 3-year clean Driver’s Abstract
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement is considered an asset
• CSTS or PCST Certification
• Standard First Aid Certification
• H2S Alive Certification
• NACE Certificate is considered an asset
• OSSA Confined Space is considered an asset
• OSSA Fall Protection is considered an asset
• OSSA EWP is considered an asset
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Working Conditions:
