Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Job at Downer Contracting
Downer Contracting is an established Construction Company (25 years +), with an in-house Service Department.
We are currently seeking for IMMEDIATE HIRE:
Heavy Duty Equipment Technician / Mechanic (4th Year Apprentice may be considered)
Requisites are:
· Must possess solid time management skills with the ability to take direction, as well as capable of making some independent decisions
· Must be fully equipped in tooling
· Welding experience is an asset but not required
· Predominantly CAT equipment repair experience
Duties:
General Maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment such as: rock trucks, skid-steers, wheel loaders, bull-dozers, and excavators. Also, potentially working on tractors and other vehicles.
Work Parameters:
- Working 5 days per week, with the daily hours ranging from 8-12 hours /per day.
- Additional hours as necessary.
- Flexibility as to scheduling is required: weekend work will likely be required, with days off during the week

- Please supply a minimum of 2 work references (barring apprenticeship at the same shop); if Red Seal, must supply a minimum of 3 work references

- Daily Travel Allowance for commuters from: Cochrane, Calgary & Banff
Position is based in Canmore, with travel potential throughout the Bow Valley: travel between multiple work sites is standard in a company truck. No staff accommodation is available. Hourly rate is based on experience - overtime paid.
