Join Our Team

We are seeking a full time Health Outreach Coordinator, Y-Take The Shot (YTTS). Y Take The Shot is a Public Health Agency of Canada/YMCA of Newfoundland and Labrador project aimed at addressing a key objective of the Immunization Partnership Fund. Specifically, community-based COVID-19 Education, Promotion and outreach. The goal of the project is to increase the percentage of vaccinated Canadians by developing and facilitating interventions, supports, and program activities that educate, assist, and inform traditionally underserved or marginalized populations.

Job Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in Health or Social Sciences, Education, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Minimum three years of relevant education or experience in a lead role.
• Superior facilitation skills specifically in interventions or supports in programs that educate, assist and inform traditionally underserved to marginalized populations.
• Commits to assisting participants and self in continuous learning and awareness.
• Experience working with community partners in a development role.
• Strong planning, organizational, leadership and communication skills.
• Demonstrates and promotes a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, strategic outcomes and values of the YMCA.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team.
• Creative, resourceful, enthusiastic, motivational.
• Acceptable Certificate of Conduct with Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Available to work full-time hours and travel when required.
