Our client, a food manufacturing company located in Orangeville, is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead their production unit. The Head Chef will have the primary responsibility of overseeing all aspects of food production, ensuring high quality and food safety, and effectively managing the staff. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a strong background in food manufacturing or factory experience, along with exceptional leadership and organizational skills.


Job Description:


Responsibilities:


  • Execute the production schedule and ensure timely and efficient food preparation.

  • Streamline kitchen operations, eliminate waste, and maintain high standards of quality and food safety.

  • Oversee labor trends, performance management, and training records of kitchen staff.

  • Verify and manage labor hours to optimize productivity.

  • Train, support, and mentor employees and supervisors to foster their career development.

  • Ensure adherence to safe operating procedures, hiring/training guidelines, and hygiene standards.

  • Review purchase orders to maintain adequate inventory levels and control costs.

  • Audit certifications and oversee the operation of heavy equipment in the kitchen.

  • Submit accurate and timely weekly reports and necessary forms.

  • Conduct studies to identify opportunities for improving production efficiency.

  • Develop and implement training programs for food production personnel.

  • Ensure all kitchen staff wear appropriate sanitary and protective gear for health and safety.

  • Monitor every aspect of food production to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of kitchen equipment to ensure smooth operations.

  • Promote and introduce new food products to enhance sales and profitability.

  • Assign work tasks to staff based on their specialization and experience.

  • Set production objectives and implement action plans to achieve targets.

  • Conduct forecasts to identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.

  • Prepare periodic reports to update upper management on food production activities.

  • Create work shifts to ensure round-the-clock food production operations if necessary.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials and finished products.

  • Ensure proper storage conditions for products and raw materials.

  • Conduct surveys to identify customer preferences and adjust menu accordingly.

  • Ensure compliance with company regulations and government legislation.

  • Stay updated on industry trends by attending seminars, conferences, and educational programs.


Timings - Flexible to work on irregular working schedules Monday to Friday ( 7AM to 3PM or 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM or 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM )


Salary - $75,000
