YOUR FUTURE ROLE


The SAP Government Security unit is looking for a Government Security Officer to support the Canadian Government Security portfolio, managing personnel security screening activities to comply with SAP policies and various government Contract Security Programs. You will seek opportunities to improve internal operations nationally and will be directly responsible for the daily execution of specific security processes. You will also have a role to collaborate internationally with the Government Security team in the UK.


Core responsibilities include:


  • Support the fulfillment of contract security requirements in government, public sector, and highly regulated industry across consulting, sales, pre-sales and other market unit teams.
  • Manage and process security clearances throughout their lifecycle including initiation, application, authorization, maintenance, retirement, and archiving activities.
  • Assist with the coordination, preparation and submission of documents related to visits and subcontracting activities.
  • Maintain internal reporting and ensure employees receive mandatory security briefings.
  • Support the Canadian Government Security team and participate in global alignment activities, especially in the UK.
  • Help design and maintain training and awareness programs.
  • Maximize your potential, grow your professional network, continuously learn, and build a unique understanding of software delivery models in government and regulated industry.
  • Serve as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO).


YOUR PROFILE


You are a self-starting, resilient, goal-oriented individual eager to learn and contribute on a broader team. You embody a positive can-do attitude, are team oriented, open minded, always curious and have a passion for solving problems. You like to work on meaningful projects and are energized by working across diverse teams. You have an interest in learning about security and compliance in a global company that is enabling some of the most security conscious organizations in the world.


  • College or bachelor's degree (or comparable certification/in-firm training/experience) in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Security, Business, Public Policy, International Affairs, Government Relations, or related discipline/academic program.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments
  • Display a high degree of integrity, discretion and professionalism when exposed to sensitive information
  • Confident written and oral communication skills, including presenting to groups of people
  • Working knowledge and understanding of government security processes is an asset
  • Able to both work within a team and as an individual contributor
  • Eligible for a Government of Canada security clearance

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Other languages considered an asset

The SAP Government Security unit is part of the SAP CEO Board Area and has a mandate to ensure strict fulfillment of regulatory obligations in the context of various contract security programs world-wide. The SAP Government Security team in Canada focuses on obligations and risks associated with Canadian federal, provincial, municipal, and highly regulated industry customers with special security requirements.
