General Warehouse/ Assembly - Saanichton Job at Randstad

We are now searching for a motivated and reliable warehouse/ assembly person for a busy cabinet manufacturer in Saanichton, BC. This is a temporary position to start, with probability of permanent hire if the fit is right. This position offers plenty of opportunity for growth and skill building, with on the job training provided.

Successful candidates must be comfortable operating large scale machinery as well as hand tools. If you have experience with physical work (moving, lifting, standing), and are a positive team player, we invite you to apply today. Experience in cabinetry, construction, manufacturing, and warehousing is preferred.

- Day shift: 7:am - 3:30pm, or 8am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities
  • Operating large scale machinery such as saws, edge banders and drills, and small tools/hand tools such as drills, shapers and sanders
  • Operating small tools/hand tools such as drills, shapers and sanders
  • Keeping workspaces clean, tidy, and free of debris
  • Reading production orders and diagrams
  • Assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders, and barrels using glue, staples, screws, bolts or other fasteners
  • Assembling & reinforcing cabinetry components using the machines and equipment provided
  • Installing decorative hardware per job specifications
  • Correcting deficiencies and errors according to quality control and operational guidelines
  • Working as a team to communicate scheduling and operational requirements
  • Working within time frames set by the employer
  • Wrapping, labelling, and loading cabinetry components
  • Completing parts requests and extra ordinary orders according to operational requirements
  • May clean and lubricate equipment and replace parts as necessary
  • May assist with maintenance of machinery
  • Operating a forklift where trained and necessary
  • Receiving and storing goods where trained and necessary
  • Finishing cabinetry components with paint, lacquer either manually or with machinery
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • Capability of handling physical work, with proven experience
  • Full time availability
  • Reliable and responsible, proven by positive references
  • Experience in warehouse. construction. manufacturing preferred
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • High attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with computers
  • Strong communication skills
