Deadbeetz Burgers is a fast casual Burger Restaurant which also operates two Food trucks. We get to vend at some of the best places and events around greater Victoria. Markets, Beach Days and Festivals are on our schedule! We are all about fun and interesting burgers and sides made fresh from scratch. We have a passion for customer service and have many wonderful regular customers and community ties. Our culture of a safe, inclusive and respectful workspace is extremely important to us. We are looking for someone who is also passionate about these core values and love working in a kitchen to join our team as a burger flipping cook on the Food Truck.

*Tip pool evenly shared which is between $7-$10 an hour

*hiring for Part-Time which can build into Full time as Summer kicks in.

*Must be able to travel to various Greater Victoria locations including Colwood Lagoon, Esquimalt and Saanich.

Job Overview
A Line Cook executes food preparation, cooking, portioning and serving, as well as cleaning and maintenance of the Food Truck, equipment and supplies, ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures related to safety, health standards,
Deadbeetz Burgers policies and procedures, and the Supervisors specifications.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

*Turning on/off equipment including fryers and griddle.
*Set Up and Stock work station.
*Prepare and Cook food during service in cooperation with co-workers.
*Cook to the exact standard of Head Chef or Shift Leader.
*Ensure proper hand washing techniques.
*Ensure the Food Truck is clean and comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and VIHA health standards at all times. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality. Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen and its equipment to supervisor.
*Arrive on time for your shift.
*Ensure consistent serving sizes, plating presentation and top quality meals everytime.
*record waste. Notify Supervisor immediately of sub-standard quality product.
*Ensure food comes out in a timely manner. ie:10 mins or less.
*Comply with health, sanitation, safety regulations, policies and procedures.
*Fill out closing checklists
*Interact with customers and vendors to develop and maintain a favourable public image.
*Attend staff meetings and other functions as required.
*Complete all paperwork involved in day-to-day operations.
*Communicate on Slack with coworkers as necessary.
*Cleaning/Closing of whole kitchen in compliance with standards.

Requirements

*Ability to work a flexible schedule: mornings, evenings and nights. Holidays and

Weekends are necessary.
*Must be respectful and kind to all co-workers, customers and vendors.

Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
*passion for food and specifically burgers.
*basic knife skills

*ability to work both independently and in a team environment
*Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

*Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors and team members in a professional and respectful manner.
*Strong organizational and time management skills.
*Possess the ability to multi-task and manage stressful circumstances associated with a fast-paced work enviroment.
*Ability to follow instruction and complete assigned tasks with accuracy, speed and with a can-do attitude.
*Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow and operating procedures.
*ability to ask for help or clarification as needed.

Physical Requirements
*Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Including walking, talking, listening, repetitive use of hands, reaching, crouching, bending and kneeling.

*Ability to lift (according to safe procedures) 40 pounds.
*Ability to work in a hot Food truck kitchen.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-35 per week

Salary: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
