Description:
Purpose: To be a team member of the WCS Food Bank and its associated programs.
Responsibilities:
- To be an active member of the Woolwich Community Services team
- To complete projects as assigned over the summer months with direction from the Food Bank/Volunteer Coordinator
- Provide support to Food Hamper participants directly through food programs offered by WCS
- Pack food hampers for program participants using food hamper guideline sheets
- Assist with running a Fresh Food Friday Program
- Assist with running the weekly Bread and Summer Fresh Food programs
- Collect and input statistical data related to food programs
- Assist with a weekly FREE Hotdog Thursday 'take-out' event
- Other duties that may be assigned
Qualifications:
- Position does not require the applicant to have completed high school
- Interest in social work or would like experience in a social work related field
- Enthusiastic and friendly personality
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of local community
- Responsible to the Food Bank/Volunteer Coordinator
Time Commitment:
- 35 hour work week for 10 weeks
- $16.00 per hour
A note about the summer positions: This employer has applied to the Canada Summer Jobs initiative.
