We are seeking a Fine Art Artist/Graphic Designer to join our team


General Description:

The Graphic Designer/Fine Artist will work under general supervision to create or coordinate the creation of custom art images both digitally and by hand. This individual will use their knowledge of specialized design concepts, fine art background, and software tools to develop art images for various internal and external clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Versatility in painting styles is being able to paint representationally as well as in gestural and abstract styles.
  • Fine Art expertise in paint handling techniques with a focus on acrylic and watercolor.
  • Expert level in Photoshop and digital painting, being able to brush up on artwork and execute custom color correction.
  • Create conceptual and artful interpretations based on Art Direction provided.
  • Meet with the art department, sales, and other internal team members along with designers to review project brief(s), and discuss strategies and themes for art development.
  • May be required to source and create appropriate artwork and/or photography to develop packages for the relevant client(s).
  • Review package feedback from all project stakeholders and make necessary edits and updates as required.
  • Ensure all submitted work complies with copyright standards.
  • Create and produce JPEGs, PDFs, and other design elements as required.
  • Work towards the development of expert-level knowledge of relevant design tools and technologies.
  • Meets all quality, time, and budget standards relevant on a project-by-project basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED, Graduate of relevant design program preferred.
  • At least 2 years of direct work experience as a graphic designer.
  • RGD designation is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Quark Xpress, PageMaker, Acrobat, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Well-versed in the latest graphic design methods, practices, techniques, and associated principles.
  • Solid design and conceptual skills.
  • Strong knowledge of page layout and photographic requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of printing/publishing procedures and standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback from superiors.
  • Effective deadline management and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret user requirements.
