The Manager of Finance Operations will be responsible for leading both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable department through its day to day operations. The Manager will have the AP Manager and AR Manager report directly to them and guide them in leading the respective team while reporting to the Director of Finance on performance, challenges and needs of the teams.

In addition, they will be responsible for leading in partnership with the senior finance team on our transformation strategy and business architecture that will help the Finance team achieve the future state within both AP and AR. The Leader will drive the transformation journey through overall re-architecture and re-design of the existing finance processes within AP & AR while leveraging industry best practices & emerging technologies.

We are looking for a strategic and versatile Manager of Finance Operations who will work closely with the Business stakeholders and their processes. This role will look to streamline processes, while focusing on scalability and implementing industry best practices. The ideal candidate must have a collaborative, professional, and service-oriented approach when interacting with business partners, utilizing strong communication skills and interpersonal skills and excel at meeting deadlines We are looking for an individual who prides themselves on getting things done.

High level breakdown:

  • Oversee Accounts payable/receivable *AP is much bigger and will require more attention here*
  • Run the transactional process to help lift the responsibility off the VP Finance
  • Creating and executing process improvement changes
  • Develop reporting and KPI’s and work with AP/AR managers on teams performance

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the management of the full financial process for AP and AR.
  • Reviewing, assessing and documenting the current processes and compare to industry best practice.
  • Creating and executing process changes to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the financial processes in collaboration with business operations and IT.
  • Accurately documenting Standard Operating Processes “SOP” for all update processes.
  • Developing reporting and KPI metrics for tracking and reporting on team performance.
  • Assessing and developing training requirements for the team.
  • Working with the Organizational Change Management Lead, support change management, stakeholder communication, user training during process changes
  • Partners with business operations and IT on change control and compliance processes as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must have:

  • 7+ years of accounting/finance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration, CPA Designation preferred.
  • Experience with internal control and processes
  • Excellent communicator, self-motivated and driven team player with the ability to build relationships and community with coworkers and cross-functional partners.
  • Exposure with AP and AR with some direct management experience

Nice to have;

  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Ceridian Dayforce
  • CPA is an asset
  • Retail/hospitality experience
