About the role

As the largest provider of home, auto and business insurance in Canada, we rely on our finance and audit teams to provide analysis and reporting needed to make sound, strategic decisions. Being a leader on our award-winning team of in-house financial experts means being at the forefront executing key elements related to our short-term and long-term vision, enabling us to optimize our financial operations and maintain our leadership position in the marketplace.

What you’ll do here:

• Contribute to financial systems strategy and lead transformation projects that help us execute on our business priorities
• Help oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met
• Present and explain investment information and financial plans
• Advise senior management on profit-maximizing ideas to ensure long-term success
• Analyze market trends and provide data-based recommendations
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
• Liaise with the internal auditors, as well as risk and compliance functions
• Manage the succession planning, performance evaluation, and development of employees

What you bring to the table:

• Ability to interact with various people at all levels of the organization, including management and external stakeholders
• Proven success in interpreting financial information and recommending further courses of action
• Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
• Degree in Finance, Economics or related field
• 5 years of experience in Finance Operations or related field
• Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA)
• Rigorous, autonomous and responsible attitude, and not afraid to step out of your comfort zone
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to manage, guide and inspire employees
