Nestled on the shores of Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe, Orillia is located 1.5 hours north of Toronto and offers five picturesque waterfront parks, a state of the art new library, a world class entertainment centre, sixty alpine ski runs and eighty two kilometers of cross-country ski/cycling trails. The recent renewal of three key cultural assets, Leacock Museum, Orillia Opera House and Museum of Art & History contributes to a vibrant arts community. Government services, education, retail, manufacturing and tourism are the basis of Orillia’s economy. Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is located in the City of Orillia providing a comprehensive range of programs and services including medical, surgical and emergency care, as well as outpatient services. OSMH’s primary service area includes Orillia, Rama First Nation, and the Townships of Severn, Ramara, and Oro-Medonte, and through our regional programs we are able to offer kidney care, orthopedic care, sexual assault and domestic violence treatment, adult mental health care, seniors care, as well as pediatric and neonatal intensive care to patients throughout North Simcoe Muskoka and beyond.

POSITION SUMMARY:
A welcoming, collegial environment awaits family physicians in Orillia, Ontario where 49 family physicians, nurse practitioners and allied health professionals comprise the Couchiching Ontario Health Team a collaborative group of organizations and patient and caregiver advisors working in partnership to improve access and delivery of coordinated health services. The group is comprised of partners from across the care continuum.
Applicants for this position can structure their practice to suit their interests and could include EM, hospitalist, OB and surgical assist.

Qualifications

Applicant must be a licensed physician (or eligible for licensing) in the Province of Ontario.

Applicant must be eligible for appointment to the credentialed staff at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital if privileges are being requested.
