Harvest has an immediate opening for an Electrician reporting to the Maintenance Lead. This will be either a staff or contract, full time position located at the BlackGold SAGD Facility near Conklin, AB. The successful candidate will reside in a camp facility on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the health safety and environmental goals of the project.
• Ensure the reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment.
• Complete electrical maintenance and modifications following electrical codes, manuals, schematics, diagrams, and other specifications.
• Repair and replace electrical components and equipment by diagnosing malfunctions with transformers, motors, VFDs, breakers, wiring, or other components.
• Perform systematic quality checks on all work performed.
• Maintain documentation as required by Electrical Safety Authority.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize electrical equipment data, information, and trends. Making recommendations, as necessary, for improvements.
• Maintain all required safety certification.
• Commitment to best practices in health, safety, and environmental management.

Qualifications

• Valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyman Certificate, preference will be given to candidates that are duel trade certified (Instrumentation Technician).
• Valid Class 5 Operator’s License or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years working in an industrial facility with Class I hazardous locations.
• Experience with equipment used in the SAGD process, such as CEMS, high voltage transformers and motors, VFDs, is an asset.
• SAGD or other oil and gas commissioning and start-up experience is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and a positive attitude.
• Proficient with personal computers, CMMS, and other software applications.
