This is a hybrid role, meaning we value time together in our downtown Toronto headquarters, blended with the flexibility to work from home every week.

Reporting to the VP of Global Communications, you’ll lead and coach a small but mighty team in developing and deploying the annual global internal communications plan. You’ll be joining the team during an energizing period of cultural transformation and will play a critical role in shaping the plans to launch and sustain an exciting new program across McCain globally.

You’ll have a deep understanding of employee engagement, and how to drive consistent and effective communication across a complex business. You thrive in a fast paced environment and are comfortable wearing a strategic hat and rolling up your sleeves alongside the team to make big things happen.

Partnering closely with several senior leaders and in collaboration with functions across our business, you’ll turn business strategy and programs into ideas that win the hearts and minds of our employees.

We’re also looking for a forward thinker with a keen eye on emerging technologies, such as AI, and a readiness to explore how these can evolve the world of internal communications at McCain.

How You’ll Add Value:

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute internal communications strategies.
  • Lead a team of internal communications professionals to deliver high-quality work that meets business objectives.
  • Own the annual global internal communications plan, ensuring that resources and activities are aligned to plans.
  • Manage and execute employee engagement campaigns, events, and initiatives in support of our winning culture.
  • Helps employees navigate through change by driving clear communication plans that foster trust and transparency.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement aligned messaging for leadership communications channels, and coach leaders to optimize their communications.
  • Work closely with the comms team to assess and evolve the communications channel strategy, using data to inform decisions.
  • Lead and oversee our events strategy, ensuring employee experience is at the heart of all we do.
  • Partner with our Regional communications teams to ensure delivery of key global priorities.
  • Reimagine communication activities through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Engage, coach and develop direct reports while contributing to the ongoing development of colleagues within our global communications community of practice.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of internal communications initiatives.
  • Manage the internal communications budget.

About You:

  • An Internal Communications expert, including strategy and planning, content development, leadership communications, and event and change management.
  • Ten years of in-house internal/corporate communications experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and strong PowerPoint skills are a must!
  • Critical thinker with the ability to anticipate and champion business needs.
  • Results-focused, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high transaction function.
  • Experienced leader with a keen focus on team engagement, development and coaching.
  • Team player with the ability to operate collaboratively across levels, geographies, functions and varying time-zones.
  • Quick learner with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, with excellent time-management and project management skills.
  • Curious, with a willingness to/adept at learning new software programs and technologies.
  • With exposure to high-importance/highly sensitive content, this position requires diplomacy, confidentiality, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Live/virtual meetings & event production essential.
