WORK ILLUSTRATION:

The Operation Support Services Analyst is responsible for the effective business operations associated with Facilities core functions as they relate to the Facilities Operations, Capital Replacement and Maintenance program and its core responsibilities, including preventive, predictive, corrective and emergency maintenance, long term strategy and planning of all major building components (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, Electrical, etc).


The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide oversight and strategy to the capital replacement/maintenance program associated with the preventive, predictive, corrective and emergency maintenance programs and capital replacement work programs associated with major building components of all Toronto Hydro owned facilities
  • Participate in investigations and evaluations associated with the capital replacement/maintenance programs, conduct analysis, identify gaps and prepare reports with recommendation of best alternate solutions
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting and program monitoring
  • Provide reporting on a weekly and/or monthly basis on the replacement and maintenance programs; prepare and analyze related metrics and/or scorecards
  • Effectively manage capital replacement projects from start to end and provide timely and accurate reporting of project status on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Liaise with internal and external group to ensure the effective progress of each program and/or project
  • Analyze and evaluate programs, conduct cost/benefit calculations, improve productivity and recommend optimum solutions; monitor, track, gather, analyze and deliver data
  • Conduct audits of assigned programs/projects and ensure continuous improvement
  • Prepare reports and provide recommendations and/or solutions to support the effective delivery of the programs and communicate results of analyses for decision making
  • Develop and maintain procedures/manuals, programs and life cycle maintenance related to the capital replacement and maintenance program
  • Monitors, tracks, gathers, analyzes and delivers data and generates recommendations for decision making
  • Support various internal/external audits and inspections as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in data mining and/or Facilities operations management including programming, process optimization, analysis for business projects, identification of areas for improvement and development of new initiatives.
  • Class G Driver’s license required
  • Proficient in data management practices and capable of extracting, querying, and handling large (i.e. hundreds of thousands of records) amounts of data
  • Fully proficient in use of MS Office (including MS Access), MS Project, Visio and other PM tools
  • Project management designation (PMP) is an asset
  • Knowledge of and experience in the facility/building operations is preferred
  • Knowledge of process re-engineering techniques
  • Awareness of project management processes, principles and methodologies
  • Creative, innovative, forward thinking, takes initiative
  • Good understanding of business issues and challenges, specifically in a customer service environment
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and business solution development skills, including the proven ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to develop statistical tracking methodologies to track performance and measurement against set standards of quality.
  • Ability to develop dependable feedback systems, dashboards and tracking

Toronto Hydro has introduced a Hybrid Work Arrangement. This position allows for remote work up to three days per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come onsite on those days when they are involved in activities that they or their leader feel are better conducted in person. You are expected to live in Ontario and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
