Job Summary

The Accounting Services Clerk performs a variety of accounting and financial related work for the Ministry, including: account reconciliations, financial reporting as well as reviewing and processing of invoices, contracts, payments, journal vouchers, travel vouchers, purchasing cards and other financial documentation. The clerk also performs data entry into the Corporate Financial System (CFS) and acts as a liaison with suppliers and responsibility centre managers.

Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience in accounts receivable or payable in a computerized environment.
  • Experience and proficiency in the use of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
  • Experience reviewing/verifying documents to ensure accuracy and completeness for processing.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Post-secondary education or training in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Experience in public sector accounting.
  • Experience with computerized financial systems
  • Experience with Corporate Financial System (CFS/CAS)
  • Experience with Adobe Pro
