Regular Full Time position –1.0 FTE

This position is at the L10 level with an hourly pay range of $45.01 - $60.12

Reporting to the Operations Leader, Watson Lake Community Hospital, the Clinical Nurse Leader is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the patient care team of Watson Lake Community Hospital. In addition, they assist with overseeing and allocating human resources and medical supplies for the provision of optimal and consistent patient care.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Knowledge of established best practices and procedures of professional nursing care;
  • Knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field;
  • Knowledge of clinical education principles;
  • Ability to develop and implement nursing care plans;
  • Ability to plan and implement a resource management program for patient care units;
  • Knowledge of management methods and techniques including human and financial management;
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing;
  • Effective interpersonal relationships;
  • Initiative, judgment and reliability;
  • Cross-cultural awareness;
  • Advocacy and assertiveness skills;
  • Ability to teach nursing practices and other relevant unit skills;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Ability to effectively engage with a variety of physician personalities ranging from widely experienced generalists to highly specialized visiting medical staff from out of province health care facilities.
  • Ability to advocate for patients, patients’ family, unit staff or other allied members of the health care team.

The successful candidate will be Registered Nurse with either a Diploma/Baccalaureate degree in Nursing; be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA); and have current CPR/AED and A.C.L.S. Healthcare Provider certification. A Masters in Nursing and/or certification in N.R.P, and T.N.C.C would be desirable.
