The Faculty of Education invites applications for the full-time tenure track clinical instructor position in Regina. The position has teaching and administrative related duties with respect to field placements across a diversity of programs, including course-embedded field components, pre-internship and 16-week internship.

Rank and salary are competitive and commensurate with professional experience and qualifications. Start date is negotiable but would normally commence on August 1, 2023.
Position Requirements
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Education, and working closely in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Student Serviced Undergraduate Programs, and the Director of Professional Development and Field Experiences.
Responsibilities include:
  • Field placement identification, monitoring and auditing of appropriate placement capacity to ensure quality, and evaluation of the student learning experience;
  • Development of field education best practices and policy;
  • Coordination, administration and monitoring of student learning in practicum settings;
  • Facilitation of student learning; teaching field education courses;
  • Field supervision through training and supporting the field recovery team and field liaisons;
  • Working with interns who require remedial support;
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Annual teaching assignment at the Undergraduate level.

A large portion of field support work involves navigating, mitigating and negotiating with interns, co-operating teachers, principals and other administrators in the field.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to use a variety of teaching modalities, including offering courses in practice education settings, labs, and seminars.
Applicants will have a minimum of:
  • Graduate Education degree, Masters in Education;
  • 8-10 years of teaching experiences with a Saskatchewan school division;
  • A Professional A teaching certificate,
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of anti-oppressive education and social justice oriented teacher education to better align field experiences with our teacher education ideals;
  • A valid driver’s license to travel within the province;
  • Experience working with various software applications, including MS Office.
  • Experience as a cooperating teacher is an asset.
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is an asset.

Preference given to candidates who have experience working in the Saskatchewan K-12 school system.
