Location: Walkerton, Kincardine

Applications are currently being accepted for a Full-Time multi-site Charge Technologist for the Walkerton and Kincardine sites of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre.

Reporting to the Manager Diagnostic Imaging/Cardiorespiratory, the Charge Technologist is responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities within the Radiology / Cardiorespiratory and Echosonography Departments including performance of all the duties of a Medical Radiation Technologist. They are responsible for staff scheduling, daily staffing assignments, maintaining equipment and ensuring that all work of Medical Radiation Technologists / Respiratory Therapist / Medical Sonography and Clerical staff meet accuracy and reliability standards/requirements. The Charge Technologist works closely with the Senior Technologist team and acts as an alternate to the Manager when delegated. They are also expected to actively participate within the DI Leadership Team and collaborate with their peers to produce a corporate standard for all functions and accreditation activities.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

· Current and active registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist of Ontario.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in Radiology with supervisory experience preferred

· Strong Computed Tomography Knowledge with the ability to lead a multisite CT program

· Working knowledge of the Standards of Practice of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists, HARP Act, and the Health Professionals Act

· Completion of education in Quality Assurance/Digital Imaging and or Leadership Skills

· Demonstrated excellent knowledge of radiology procedures, current technical experience in Computed Tomography

· Proven ability to effectively teach in a one-to-one basis as well as group settings

· Proven interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with patients, staff & physicians and successful team building practices

· Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making conflict management and organizational skills

· Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and assist with the implementation of solutions

· Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality and experience interpreting physician order documentation

· Current advanced computer skills

· Knowledge of and adherence to SBGHC Core Values

· Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

· Demonstrated ability to work with Equipment Vendors & ability to perform Quality Control testing on digital equipment

· Ability to work co-operatively as part of a large team and independently

· Positive advocate for professional body of Radiology & the Diagnostic Imaging Department

· Wiling to travel to other sites when required
