We are #hiring a temporary Case Management Advisor in our integrated disability management (IDM) team for our Calgary or our Fort McMurray office. If you have strong communication and prioritization skills, we want to hear from you!
You will be responsible for supporting employees and managing short-term disability (STD) benefit claims in a timely and efficient manner. You will complete your work in accordance with company best practices and regulatory requirements. You will exercise ethical and professional judgment in determining the appropriate collection, use, and disclosure of personal health information.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in human sciences, kinesiology, physiotherapy, nursing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of claims and / or disability management experience
  • Basic knowledge of workers compensation legislation, policies, and procedures, STD plans and long-term disability contracts
Responsibilities:
  • Manage employee disability claims utilizing both medical and non-medical information pertaining to employee health events, determining if medical support is warranted
  • Escalate to leaders and stakeholders where required when determining an employee’s eligibility for STD benefits
  • Assess employee fitness to work within the IDM program and communicate restrictions and limitations as required
  • Develop short duration transitional return to work plans to facilitate safe, timely, and sustainable returns
  • Educate and inform key stakeholders on the requirements of the IDM program, including roles, responsibilities, expectations, and consequences
  • Manage workers compensation claims according to legislation and policies
Location and other Key Details:
  • This is a temporary position until December 2023
  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. or our Fort McMurray office located at Hardin Street Building
  • Periodic travel between Fort McMurray and Calgary will be required
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
