Triple Eight Transport is an asset-based carrier company with terminals in Abbotsford BC, Calgary AB, and Acheson AB. We provide full-truckload transportation services to and from all major cities in Western Canada and the United States!

We are currently focusing on developing our Western Canada lanes, and are in need of a Business Development Representative.

Who we are looking for:

The Business Development Representative is responsible for Growing Canadian and Cross Boarder Sales to expand our customer base, while ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded.

The Business Development Representative will work closely with internal and external customers as an integral part of our aggressive growth plans in North America. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys a fast pace and can work well independently and with a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating leads through cold calling, networking and referrals.
  • Managing a balanced sales funnel, executing all steps of the sales process from target to close to continually secure new business.
  • Maintaining and growing a client account base.
  • Exceed all standards for prospecting calls, presentations, proposals and closes
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction maintaining close contact with all customers – including follow up on concerns or other issues.
  • Provide a solution based sales approach to drive new business with high end premium customers with high value products.
  • Negotiate contracts and rate agreements.
  • Develop, execute and monitor strategic and tactical goals to maximize sales, profit and to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
  • Utilizing HubSpot

What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:

  • Mandatory sales experience related to Transportation
  • 1-3 years of cross-border logistics selling experience is required
  • Excellent knowledge of North American transportation modes and customers
  • Extremely organized, flexible, proactive and creative
  • Strong time management skills
  • Creative and effective problem solving ability
  • Excellent knowledge of North American transportation modes and customers
  • Detail and deadline oriented, with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to deal with rejection and a stressful environment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
