IT proudly provides the computer systems, security, IT services and governance that support AGLC’s businesses, including the operation & support of mission critical gaming, liquor and corporate systems running on a variety of computing platforms. IT ensures the stability and performance of a Local/Wide Area Network, which supports over 1,200 gaming locations and more than 2,000 computers/tablets, 150 physical and 2,000 virtual servers distributed across six corporate offices, casinos, RECs and bingo halls. IT provides leadership in the use of information technology, data and systems to help the AGLC achieve business goals and objectives.

JOB SUMMARY


Note: This is a temporary fulltime assignment to June 4, 2024. In addition, AGLC has recently moved to a hybrid work model of at least 3 days per week in the office.

Reporting to the Team Lead, Business Analysis; the Business Analyst (BA) is the conduit between Information Technology (IT) and the business who is responsible for the analysis of complex business requirements and translates conceptual user needs into functional requirements to execute strategic initiatives.


As the BA, you will work closely with Project and Business Managers, and other key stakeholders to plan the day-to-day management of the analysis, design, development, and testing of software’s to produce deliverables within a project, process re-engineering initiatives, and enhancements.

You will partner with the business to identify business requirements for small to medium size projects, as well as, research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements. You will make recommendations and document solutions and allocate requirements to achieve the desired future state; as well as develop test plans and assists with UAT processes. You will be responsible to manage and communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications throughout various phases of the project life cycle to key stakeholders within IT and the business area.


This role is a hybrid work model, and you will be expected to provide seamless service in both a face to face and online environment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving, have experience facilitating workshops with various stakeholder groups, analyzing information, and identifying risks. You will require a high level of communication skills, both written and verbally and have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment. A strong awareness of IT policies, procedures, and methodologies are a must to achieve business and organizational objectives.


SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Minimum of a Degree in a computer science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum 2 years of Business Analyst experience with a focus on I.T related projects; preference will be given to those who have lead projects
  • Experience facilitating workshops and leading BA initiatives
  • Experience facilitating Use Acceptance Testing
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Power Point, Visio) and Requirement Management Tracking tool (ie: TFS, Jira or Modern Requirements)


The following would be considered an asset:

  • Business Analysis certification from a recognized institution
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • IT-BRM Certification (IT-BRM)
  • IT governance frameworks (e.g. ITIL, COBIT)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with Capability Based Planning and/or Enterprise Architecture
  • Experience with SharePoint or other document management or collaboration tools
  • Experience with process re-engineering initiatives
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have direct experience working on an ERP implementation and have a comprehensive understanding of enterprise business applications.
