We are searching for an Adult Day Centre Program Coordinator to join our Losier Hall team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick.

About the Opportunity
The Ad ult Day Centre Program Coordinator is responsible for the development, and implementation of the Adult Day Centre Program. The Program Coordinator is responsible to assess the participant prior to attending the Adult Day Centre, and to liaise with Social Development. The successful candidate will ensure all participants receive the appropriate recreation, socialization, stimulation, health monitoring, education, counseling, and nutrition according to established standards. Some of the main duties include:
Planning recreational and social activities which contribute to the maintenance of functional abilities, mental acuity, and optimal autonomy and promote healthy lifestyles and general well-being.
Assisting with the development of meals and menu plans with the assistance of a registered dietician or nutritionist or Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
Providing information and education regarding the aging process and healthy living such as wise use of medication, nutrition, physical activity, healthy choices and safety issues. Schedules outside entertainment or recreation activities accordingly.
Administering resident medications in accordance with Physician orders following all medication management policies and guidelines.
Coordinating healthcare monitoring by qualified staff on issues such as medications, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, dressing changes and general health status.
Driving the bus to bring clients to and from the program, ensuring pre-trip inspections are completed and assisting loading and unloading clients.
About You

Requirements for the role include:
Degree or Diploma in Recreation or other related Health Science disciplines including Licensed Practical Nurse, Human Service Counsellor, Gerontology, Rehabilitation, Social Work, Nursing.
Current certification from an applicable Food Safety program or willing to obtain.
Current certification in Emergency First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain.
Medication Administration Certificate Program or equivalent.
Valid Class 4 Driver’s License or willing to obtain.
Education considered an asset:
Certification in U-First or Gentle Persuasive Approaches.
Previous supervisory / leadership experience working in an environment with seniors.
Required Experience
Minimum two (2) years experience working with seniors in a health care setting or senior’s living environment.
Experiences considered an asset
Ability to communicate effectively and read & write the English language.
Personal computer skills in the use of related software applications.
Ability to assess and prioritize multiple work assignments while displaying a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality service.
