A Career in Aviation and Beyond- Workforce Planning Manager

  • Define and lead the implementation of talent management and leadership development initiatives that align with and support the talent acquisition and employee retention plan to meet human capital needs and enable the growth strategy of Voyageur.
  • Under guidance of the Director of HR develop and implement an overall workforce development and management strategy that includes a comprehensive talent acquisition plan, identification of employee career paths within the organization, as well a training and development strategy(is) to retain current and future leaders across the organization.
  • Actively seek and develop strategic partnerships with education and training organizations to develop or support specific apprenticeship/job training programs.
  • Continually monitor hiring trends and market compensation to identify upcoming challenges and opportunities as well as develop pro-active solutions to labour market changes (hard-to-hire positions) to successfully recruit talent.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management, assisting them in understanding current hiring trends, challenges and forecasting needs.
  • Implement talent management and leadership development best practices within all program areas.
  • Provide Executive and Senior Administrative position talent acquisition.
  • In collaboration with the Human Resources Manager, develop and oversee a foreign worker program.
  • Set up processes and practices to capture key performance data for analysis and reporting. Using this data develop a monthly executive report or HR KPI dashboard that incorporates metrics related to turnover, internal fill rates, critical open positions, for example.
  • Mentor and develop the Talent Acquisition team by providing coaching and career development opportunities to ensure continuous improvement of the team.
  • Provide leadership in the design, development and implementation of talent development programs and strategies.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in talent management and leadership development programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labour, or Industrial Relations or relevant experience within Talent Acquisition
  • Talent Acquisition Experience: 8 years (Required)
  • Talent Acquisition Management Experience: 5 years (Required)
  • Work authorization (Required)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proven initiative and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Lead by example to maintain high standards of conduct at workplace.
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity skills.

Location and other Key Details:

Work assignments may require working in a secure work environment or with security sensitive contracts for DND/DOD and may require safety and security clearances. The candidate is expected to be in a position to receive such clearance from the RCMP.

This position will be remote with the expectation that the incumbent will travel to the head office in North Bay a minimum of 4 times per year and travel to support talent acquisition efforts such as career fairs, educational partnership development program meetings, aviation specific tradeshows etc.

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday

Eligibility
