Location: Hiring for our Bowmanville location

What you’ll do

Working out of our warehouse in Bowmanville, you’ll work as a part of a team to help ensure that the high-quality products from our vendors get to our stores, and ultimately our customers, in the most efficient and responsible way possible. Our Material Handler employees are hired to support a multi-shift operation. This means being able to work 10-8 hours per day, 4-5 days per week, and including weekends.

Additional responsibilities we expect our Material Handler employees to embrace in the role include:

  • Abiding by health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment
  • Participation in cross training of some distribution functions
  • Safe operation of power equipment
  • Following assigned work schedule, and identifying/reporting variances to Crew Lead
  • Remaining flexible and adaptable to Distribution-wide work demands
  • Identifying and sharing continuous improvement and quality assurance opportunities
  • Verifying all merchandise to ensure that it coincides with the paperwork
  • Working in and updating warehouse management system
  • Engagement in duties/special projects
  • Participating in team-based decision making as required

What you bring

Warehouse employees must be 18 years of age, proficient with computers, successfully completed high school or equivalent (in Canada or abroad) and able to meet department standards for shift work and physical requirements:

  • Ability to work at heights of up to 50ft
  • Ability to lift 22 kgs (50 lbs)
  • Ability to push/pull up to 22kgs (50 lbs)
  • Ability to lift 22 kgs (50 lbs) floor to overhead
  • Ability to walk/stand for a 10 hour shift
